Yesterday, local trekker and photographer Eman Azzopardi, along with Marija Bonello, was on a mission to walk 45km around part of the island to celebrate his 45^th birthday while collecting funds for Hospice Malta. And now he’s completed the trek and shared some stunning shots of various spots around Malta, along with a message on socials.

“A huge thanks to God for another great year that I have been through,” he said, also thanking all those who sent him well wishes and donated to the cause. “Although I am a year older I still feel very young at heart. I look forward to live throughout this coming year,” he continued. “Keep in mind to: LIVE YOUR LIFE AND FORGET YOUR AGE!” He said he’ll share the final amount collected later on this week.

It was quite the journey it seems, but Eman still made time to cut his cake! “What’s a birthday without a birthday cake?? Making good use of a bus shelter until the rain calms down. 34.5km done…10.5km left. One last push,” he said at the time.
