7 classic Maltese songs that warm every local's heart
Songs touch the heart, especially those old classics that invoke nostalgia. Such as these Maltese classic songs, for example.

Melanie Drury

Some of these Maltese classic songs are more than 50 years old, yet even the youngest are familiar with them. They keep returning to the radio, at traditional village feasts, or even in spontaneous drunken choir at a BBQ. In short, they are a quintessential part of Maltese culture and will basically never die!

1. Xemx - Dominic Grech | The Tramps

2. L-Ahhar Bidwi f'Wied il-Ghasel - Sammy Bartolo | New Cuorey

3. Festa - MaryRose Mallia

4. Il-Bajja tal-Mellieħa - Sammy Bartolo | New Cuorey

5. Inti Djamant (Ghawdex) - Dominic Grech | The Tramps

6. Dghajsa tal-Latini - Sammy Bartolo | New Cuorey

7. Tema '79 (Gensna) - Mary Spiteri

Even if you don't understand the lyrics, the mood of these songs could capture anyone's imagination! In all of the above, the theme is the Maltese Islands, its history, culture and traditions.

Perhaps everybody loves them because they don't make songs like these anymore... but at least, we'll always have these songs, and they will live on long after we are gone.
