5 of Malta's best gin & tonics to get the party started
Here are the 5 best places to grab a G&T this weekend.

Yard 32 Gin & Tapas Bar, Valletta

When you order a G&T in Spain, you get it in a large balloon glass (the shape enhances the gin's aromas), which is filled with dense ice plus the gin, tonic and the garnish that goes best with the chosen gin. Yard 32 take their G&Ts seriously, and this is where Yard 32 derives its motivation from. The only bar in Malta with 200 gins and 42 tonic waters, the Spanish-inspired atmosphere is warm with friendly people, interesting tapas and, of course, lots of gin.

The Black Sheep, Gzira

This little set up on the Gzira seafront offers a relaxed, lofty atmosphere with flattering and cosy lighting, and is great for a date or with friends. There's often live music at The Black Sheep, and the staff are always in a good mood. The bartender makes it abundantly clear that his passion is cocktails, G&Ts in particular, so they really call out to be sampled!

Cafe Society, Valletta

Having earned a reputation among local movers and shakers as one of Valletta's most interesting waterholes, Cafe Society offers genuinely good artisan G&Ts. You're not going to find false preserves in these babies - the legit flavour is truly legit, thanks to the use of fresh aromatic herbs and fruits.

Madliena Lodge, Madliena

The lounge bar of this award-winning restaurant covers both indoors and outdoors, and is surrounded by lush greenery, overlooking a breath-taking sea view. The bar at Madliena Lodge is a snapshot of a mixologist's haven, with its gin paraphernalia; herbs, berries, different types of citrus, and of course, an ample choice of gins.

Kingsway Bar & Cafe, Valletta

The perfect spot to kick back and watch bustling Republic Street buzz by with a beautifully made G&T in hand, Kingsway is always packed with people, this relatively new and lively watering hole is becoming increasingly renowned for its cocktails, offering an impressive gin list for discerning G&T fans.
