1. Your trusty raincoat

The skies sometimes decide to open their metaphoric taps on the islands, allowing bucket loads of water to fall from the sky (and October was a record breaker!) In other words, it rains sometimes.. so keep an umbrella or raincoat handy when the clouds seem a little ominous.

2. An extra pair of socks

This may sound strange but it’s a really important tip to keep your feet warm throughout the day. This little trick comes in handy when you accidentally step in a puddle on your way to meet friends!

3. A proper hardback

E-books are great - they reduce the amount of paper produced and passed around on our planet - but no matter how eco-loving you may be, there’s nothing like a good hardback. Get a library membership and treat the earth better that way.

4. A great tea selection

Tea. Lots of it. There has never been a Maltese house with too vast a tea selection. Get your hands on loose tea leaves, herbal, black, infusions - whatever it may be. Drink more tea - it will make you happy on a cold autumn day.

5. That extra stocked biscuit jar

What goes well with tea? Biscuits - again the vaster the variety, the better. Get yourself a pretty cookie jar to store open packets or your freshly baked goods - they’ll last longer and look super cute!
