4 patients admitted to Mater Dei with serious COVID-19 symptoms
This comes as the number of daily cases is expected to reach a new record today.

With COVID-19 continuing to cause anxiety on the islands, The Medical Association of Malta has said that it is expecting the daily number of new cases to reach a new record today.

The association has also stated that four new patients have been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital with serious COVID-19 symptoms yesterday, bringing the number of hospitalised patients with COVID-19 up to seven.

The MAM continues to condemn the authorities’ decision to allow events of up to 300 people to take place with minimal enforcement, highlighting the risks involved in continuing to spread the virus.

And while hospitalizations do remain low, the association is concerned that, according to scientific evidence, a death for every 75 total cases is to be expected with three to six weeks of onset.
