The LGBTIQ venues to check out and events to look out for in Malta.
Whilst Malta leads the way in LGBTIQ rights, specific bars, clubs and general hangout places remain rather scarce on the islands. The good news is that in general, all bars and clubs on the islands are LGBTIQ-friendly, according to our own sources within the community. But if you’re looking for a specifically LGBTIQ venue or party, these are the ones to look out for!
Lollipop parties
Held monthly, (and sometimes holding additional events), Lollipop is the much-needed party for the LGBTIQ community. It is self-described as “your Saturday night hyper trashy pop discotheque,” playing “bubblegom pop with a mix of disco and house”. The disclaimer at the end reads “If you attended, you’re leaving covered in glitter.” If this sounds like your shot of vodka, check out their page to find out when the next one is!
