10 reactions we had during last night’s wacko thunderstorm

Yo, what was last night’s thunderstorm?! I mean, we were expecting rainfall that may be thundery at times, but last night was a full-blown winter thunderstorm. Here are just some reactions that went through our minds during last night’s storm.

1. What the…?

You’re in dreamland but then something wakes you up suddenly. U le… I must be dreaming. *Goes back to sleep*

2. BOOM

Ok, I’m not dreaming. Dal-hoss x’inhu? You try tune your senses in your semi-awake state to try figure out what the hell woke you up from your glorious slumber.

3. That moment

Shit. It’s actually pouring. Thanks Mother Nature for waking me up. God only knows how long it’s going to take this light sleeper to fall asleep again. #Ugh

4. IL-HWEJJEG!!

You spring out of bed because you left the clothes out on the terrace or the roof, thinking it’s a normal summer’s evening. So, bhac-cuc as we say, you have to sprint out of bed and sort through the clothes at 2.30am.

5. Quick spot check

Since we’re up, might as well check the windows and doors. No rain has flooded the house (thank God).

6. Geez

There’s another thunder bolt that scares the bejesus out of you as you manoeuvre your way through the darkness checking on the house.

7. Sneak peek

Ok, you’ve checked on everything and before you head to bed, curiosity gets the better of you and you head to the nearest window to take a peek at the natural phenomenon that’s currently happening outside. You might even capture a few shots, or a video like this dude did.

8. The car

Uggghhh. If you’re like me and have crap luck, you would have just washed your car so you’re internally swearing at the prospect of your recently-squeaky clean car now all soiled. #SEHTA.

9. The umbrella

You get a light bulb moment: the umbrella is in the car. ROUND OF APPLAUSE LADIES AND GENTS FOR THIS SMART COOKIE. If it keeps raining in the morning, you’ll just be getting two rounds of refreshing showers.
