Miss it and weep:

American punk band Gogol Bordello is in Malta and will stun tonight at Aria Complex, in a concert bound to go down in local lore as one of the best the island has seen. The 8-piece band’s sound is inspired by gypsy music and their mix of East European sounds and punk has had revellers around the world agog and dying for more - this is definitely one of THE music events of the summer!
Hump day action…and a little bit more:
Wednesday, 1 August from 6pm: Crush Wednesdays – Surfside, Sliema; Wednesday 1 August from 7:30pm – 1am: MYNT | Week 4 – Retro - Penthouse, Gianpula Village, Rabat; Thursday, 2 August from 6pm – 11pm: 1926 Thursdays – 1926 Beach Club, Qui-Si-Sana, Sliema

Surfside - Facebook
Mid-way through the week and the end is in sight – what better way to celebrate than by heading down to one of Malta’s most iconic party spots? Both Surfside and Gianpula are helping get people in the mood for the weekend with Crush Wednesdays at the Sliema joint and a retro extravaganza taking place in the popular Rabat venue. The newer player on the block – 1926 Beach Club – is also throwing its hat in the ring, one day later on Thursday, meaning you don’t have to stop moving till the weekend.
Under the stars in one of Malta’s most beautiful sites:
Monday, 30 July – Sunday, 5 August: Building Being / Utopian Nights – Howard Gardens, Mdina

If you’ve never been to Howard Gardens just outside Mdina, this might be the opportunity to savour it slowly, whilst engaging with various forms of artistic activity on the topic of Utopia. This Valletta 2018 event, in which participants are actively encouraged to camp on site, sets up a platform for discussion, in which artists, thinkers and the general public interact and participate in storytelling, photography, poetry, film and music. Solar Cinema will also be on site so you get to watch movies in the open-air!
Beach joy:
Tuesday, 31 July from 10am – 2pm: Clean Up Ramla l-Hamra - Ramla Bay, Xaghra, Gozo; Wednesday, 1 August from 6:30pm: Circus Arts Playground - Golden Bay, Manikata
Malta is blessed with some stunning beaches and seaside sites, and there’s no better way to appreciate them then to take care of them and make sure they retain their beauty for posterity. On Tuesday, Gaia Foundation is once again taking action and organising a clean-up at Ramla l-Hamra in Gozo – ideal considering how busy this place gets during the summertime. And, on Wednesday, continue your worship of the archipelago’s beaches by heading down to Golden Bay, where there will be jamming sessions, yoga and plenty of sandy fun. Just keep it clean!
Tune in:
Tuesday, 31 July from 8pm: Modern masters: Gabi Sultana & Mirek Coutigny Piano Duo Recital - Teatru Manoel, Valletta; All week: The Farsons Beer Festival - Ta' Qali National Park, Attard

Teatru Manoel / Facebook
This summer, Teatru Manoel has put up performance after performance, celebrating the knock-out achievements of many in the artistic sphere. Tomorrow, American composers – seven of them to be precise – will be propelled into this theatre’s limelight thanks to the performance of piano-duo Gabi Sultana and Mirek Coutigny, who will be regaling audiences with a road trip of the best. And for something a little closer to home, the Farsons Beer Festival is still on. Watch out for tonight’s comedy music set and the Brass House Unit later on in the week!
