Science fun:

Friday, 28 September from 6pm - midnight: Science in the City – various locations around Valletta

What

Science in the City / Facebook

Malta’s science and arts festival, Science in the City, is back this year with a programme designed to get you and your kids curious, informed and entertained! The event falls on European Researchers’ Night and aims to instil a passion for science – and its immense possibilities – through installations and activities. There will be maths concerts, science races, puppet shows, VR and augmented reality, time travel and so so much more – the challenge will be trying to keep up with it all! Time for a drink:

Friday, 28 September at 8pm: RMYC End of Summer Party: Royal Malta Yacht Club, Ta' Xbiex Seafront, Ta'Xbiex; Friday, 28 September from 5pm: Adesso Fridays Season Opening With Ziggy – Adesso Bar, Valletta; Friday, 28 September from 7pm: Aperitivo Nights! - The Pulled Meat Company, Valletta

What

Adesso Bar / Facebook

Weekends are great for indulging in a few drinks without being labelled an alcoholic. And, these next few days are no different, starting from tomorrow night with the End of Summer Bash at the Royal Malta Yacht Club. It might be fun, if you can stop mourning the passing of the warmest season of the year! On the other side of the harbour, Adesso Bar in South Street are setting things up for some sips and sounds (and will continue to do so every Friday) while The Pulled Meat Company in Valletta are throwing their weekly Aperitivo Nights! – so all you’ll have to do is pick your tipple.

Eat, eat, eat:

Saturday, 29 September from 7.30pm – 10.30pm: Lampuki Night at Rocksalt – Rocksalt, St Julian's; Sunday, 30 September from 10am – 5pm: Food Therapy Pop Up Shop at Artisan Market - Fort Manoel, Gzira

What

Rock Salt / Facebook

As the colder weather sets in, hunger starts to settle in pockets of your stomach you never knew you had. To satisfy those sweet (or savoury) cravings, these two offerings this weekend might have you asking for some ‘more please sir!’ Saturday night, local fish lampuki (known as the dorado or mahi-mahi) is the star of the show at Rocksalt in St Julian's, with the chefs creating imaginative dishes designed to make the most of its texture. And on Sunday, food is the order of the day at the artisan market at Fort Manoel, with free tasters of more-ish choccie goodies (including vegan and gluten free options).

Make Malta clean:

Sunday, 30 September at 8am: Let's Go Plogging - Ghadira Bay, Mellieha

What

Ladies' Running Club / Facebook

The Ladies’ Running Club is plogging this Sunday. That was a new word for us too, but apparently it refers to the act of collecting trash. The club will be doing so while on a 10km charity run or 5km charity walk – take your pick. The most important thing is to leave the area better than you find it. A €7 donation is also being asked for and this will go to AAA, a charity housing 95 abandoned stray dogs. So, you’ll be doing good in two ways!
