What are you doing this NYE? The capital is waiting!
Music, lights, live performances and fireworks over the Grand Harbour – Valletta is setting the stage for a New Year’s Eve celebration to remember.

Let’s be honest: planning NYE can feel like pressure. A new year deserves to be welcomed with a little magic and gusto – but coming up with something fresh year after year isn’t always easy.

One thing, though, never changes: it’s all about being together. Some of us will happily ring in the new year wrapped in blankets on the sofa. Others want lights, music, movement, and a bit of glitter in the air. If you fall into the latter camp, make your way to St George’s Square on 31 December.

This historic piazza will transform into a vibrant hub of celebration, buzzing with energy and anticipation. The evening will be hosted by Ron Briffa, Jamie Cardona and Taryn Mamo Cefai, setting the tone for a night packed with entertainment.

Expect performances by Glen Vella and his band, followed by the Palace String Orchestra, joined by some of Malta’s leading artists, including Aidan Drakard, Denise, Gaia, Karin Duff, Keith Zammit Mintoff and Klinsmann, for a series of timeless classics and one-of-a-kind collaborations.

And as we bid farewell to the final seconds of 2025, all eyes will turn to the sky. A spectacular aerial fireworks display over the Grand Harbour will unfold at midnight – a shared countdown, a shared cheer, and a shared beginning.
