WATCH: Malta bids farewell to Royal Navy's HMS Diamond with incredible battery salute
It was quite a sight!

Yesterday, Malta bid farewell to HMS Diamond with a battery salute from the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

HMS Diamond was in Malta as part of the celebrations marking 100 years of Armistice Day. Last Saturday 10th November, the Royal Naval Officers’ Association – Malta GC, held a memorial service and wreath-laying ceremony at the Kalkara Naval cemetery conducted by various Naval officers, and wreaths were laid on behalf of various British entities. A Remembrance Day ceremony was also held on the flight deck of the HMS Diamond, in honour of the victims of the Great War.

Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, was also in Malta this weekend carrying engagements on behalf of his cousin, the Queen. He met with President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, and also awarded former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr George Vella, the Insignia of Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George. That's quite a mouthful! During his stay, the Duke also attended a dinner on board the HMS Diamond in Valletta’s Grand Harbour.
