It was recently restored after being closed off to the public.
A 30 second video uploaded to social media really shows the impressive and tranquil beauty of St Philip’s Garden in Floriana.
The drone footage depicts the many amazing features of the 7000 square metre garden which is one of five gardens in Floriana that form part of Malta’s national botanic garden.
St Philip’s Garden dates all the way back to the 17th century but it was recently restored after being closed to the public for a period of time.
Some of the works done in the garden include the restoration of the fort walls from the times of the Knights of Saint John and the restoration of the 1622 Alof de Wignacourt fountain. The fountain was originally found in Saint George’s square but was then moved to the Saint Philip Garden grounds.
Apart from the trees that were already there, an extra 520 trees were planted in order to enrich the biodiversity of the garden.
