Tuesday 26th January: 138 new cases for Malta & Gozo

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 138 new cases of COVID-19 after 3,248 swabs were done in the past 24 hours.

The islands have registered 128 more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 14,104 and the number of active cases to 2,640. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 16,999 cases and has performed 596,138 swab tests. The islands also registered another two deaths in recent days: an 80-year-old female and an 88-year-old male. They both passed away at Mater Dei Hospital. Malta's total has now reached 255 deaths.

The post also noted that until yesterday, 25th January, 21,172 vaccine doses have been administered to various people on the islands. 1,463 of these were second doses.
