Very cold winters are a rare thing on the Maltese Islands. According to First Malta, back in 2015 and 2016, Christmas in Malta was anything but a wintry one. But now, all signs are pointing to Malta being set to experience one cold and wintry Christmas. Seems like we’re going to have to fish out those jumpers, jackets, coats, scarves and beanies from storage!

Cold air systems coming from the west of Russia and heading towards Italy will be passing over the Maltese Islands in the coming days. It seems like we’ll be ringing in the Christmas season with the appropriate weather!

Rain showers are also probable this weekend, so you might want to rethink that hike or picnic!
