About Palazzo Falson
I had the pleasure of being shown around the Palazzo last week and I must say, it took my breath away. The 13th century palazzo was previously owned by Olof Gollcher who loved collecting all things antique. And boy, there's A LOT of them. After his death in 1962, the house and the artefacts within were donated and entrusted to the Olof Gollcher Foundation. So this guy left all his belongs for future generations to enjoy. Quite the stand-up guy, if you ask me!

The talks
Back to the fun part. The series of informative talks will take place over the four weeks in February, starting tomorrow! Visitors will time hop to various centuries by exploring selected artefacts from the Palazzo’s refectory, kitchen and dining room. Noel will also delve into the interesting facets of Maltese practices of harvesting, preservation of food and table presentation, which was a huge deal back then.

The sessions will be held on Thursday 7th, Tuesday 12th, Thursday 21st and Thursday 28th February between 6:30pm and 8pm, and include the informative talk as well as leisure time to mingle and discuss further with the expert himself over a glass of wine.

Noel will delve into interesting intricacies that otherwise go unnoticed in the history books. The Maiolica Tiles of the Taverna’s fireplace, the collection of centuries-old weights and measures, the copper pots and pans that line the kitchen walls, and the rare silverware and glassware display will all be in the spotlight during the various sessions.
