Have you seen shots of Gozo dating back to the early 20th century? Well, you’re in for quite the feast.  In photos shared to Nostalgia Malta by Anthony Buttigieg, the below photos show Gozo during a time gone by. Anthony explains that the photos probably date back to 1920s or the 1930s and were taken from his uncle’s collection.

Triq it-Tigrija

Or better known as Triq ir-Repubblika. This is Victoria’s main street that leads to the heart of the town.

Xlendi

Totally unrecognisable! Xlendi has always been a popular spot among locals and visitors alike and today it looks nothing like this, what with the development that has taken place in the valley.

L-Imgarr

What a shot! The Mgarr Harbour can be seen some distance away along with the church atop the hill, looking over the harbour. The photo is most likely to have been taken out at sea.

It-Torri tad-Dwejra

Finally, the Dwejra Tower can be seen in the distance in this photo, as well as the arches.
