They’re back! Local travel couple had some things to say about returning home to Malta
They’ve been jetting around the world for 14 months straight.
They’re home! Maltese travel couple, Sam and Rose (or better known as The Travel 2) touched down on our islands after 14 months jetting around the world. We’re not jelly. Promise…
After surprising their family and friends a week ago with their arrival, they took to their socials to share some thoughts about living the daily Maltese life in comparison to all the cultures and cities they’ve experienced.
The first thing on their list is having their own (comfy) bed. “We're loooving the fact that we're settled in one place specifically because we don't have to think about were to sleep every 5 days. Now (thankfully), we have our own bed!” It's something many of us take for granted!
A big difference they’ve noticed is the roads. “We're looking at roads differently. Maltese roads are so tiny and slooow. MOST of the roads look like country/rural roads,” when compared to the roads and highways they’ve probably experienced in Asia and Australia. They also talk about sustainability on Maltese roads. “In an ideal Malta, motorbikes would replace our cars, and the only cars on the road would be 100% electric cars.”
Sam and Rose also comment on the fact that we're lucky to have accessibility to everything. “The easy access to pretty much everything on the island is aaamazing. We need milk? That's allright. The grocer is only 2 minutes away on foot. Need to go to Valletta? The city's just 30/40 minutes away by car.”
“We know that there's a lot of room for improvement, but today we're talking about the positives and leaving the criticism about our country to post on our own personal FB pages. We think that Malta is gorgeous. The architecture, veeery old buildings, alleys, and old villages make this island very unique, and us proud to call it home.”
And obviously, they couldn’t refrain from commenting on Malta’s fab weather. “The weather so far has been nothing short of amazing and we hope it will stay like this a bit longer so we'll enjoy some nice country side walks in the coming days.”
