Authorities have just announced the news.
As announced in yesterdays's press conference, Malta will be introducing an amber list for international travel. Coming into effect as of midnight on Friday 21st August, the below countries will be officially on Malta's amber list.
1. Bulgaria
2. Romania
3. Spain (those coming from Barcelona, Girona and Madrid)
As shared by Deputy PM and Health Minister Chris Fearne this morning, the countries on this list need to present a negative test result before boarding that would have been done no more than 72 hours in advance of travelling. Those who do not present a certificate will be subject to a swab at MIA or asked to go into self-isolation upon arrival.
This amber travel list will be revised weekly, Deputy PM Fearne said, and random testing at the airport will also be carried out.
