Infrastructure Malta has announced that part of Cottoner Avenue in Fgura will be closed to traffic as of Tuesday, 9th September 2025, with the closure expected to remain in place until Friday, 19th June 2026. The temporary closure is required to allow for major road reconstruction works.

In its official notice, Infrastructure Malta advised road users to plan their journeys in advance and make use of an alternative route through Hompesch Road to Paola. The diversion forms part of the first phase of the wider project, which aims to improve road safety and infrastructure in the area.

Authorities also stressed the importance of staying updated, as further notifications will be issued as the works progress.

While the project may cause temporary inconvenience, the reconstruction is expected to significantly enhance traffic flow and provide a safer, more efficient roadway for the long term.

Will this closure affect your daily route?
