The stamps were issued in honour of the Chinese New Year.

As this month, the Chinese community celebrated the start of the new year of the dragon, Malta Post have issued a new stamp sheet.

The new stamp depicts the popular ‘Chinese Garden of Serenity’, found in the limits of Santa Lucija.

This garden offers a peaceful space for introspection and meditation. It reflects the local environment via the inclusion of the natural elements of rocks and water, symbolising Yin and Yang and the life from birth to death.

Walking through the Garden of Serenity, one discovers that it consists of typical Chinese architecture including several smaller gardens sheltered corridors and secluded rooms where visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the peace.

It is a truly serene landscape that provides calmness and inner tranquility.

The stamp's design is that of the work of illustrator Fabio Agius and it will be released on the 29th February, 2024.
