The line-up is out! Malta Jazz Festival returns this July with a star-studded programme
The Malta Jazz Festival is back this 7th to 12th July, and this year’s line-up is one of the most exciting to date. Organised by Festivals Malta, the iconic summer event will once again transform the island into a hotbed of groove, rhythm, and world-class musicianship.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Grand Harbour and various other spots around Valletta, the festival continues to attract some of the biggest names in the genre, alongside Malta’s own top talent.
Here’s a look at the line-up:
Knower – the explosive American duo known for their genre-bending mix of jazz, funk, and electronic energy.
Michael Mayo – a vocal virtuoso who’s toured with greats such as Jacob Collier and Josh Groban.
Peter Bernstein – an esteemed jazz guitarist hailing from New York, who’s played throughout the nineties and naughties, bringing sounds from various decades.
Rebecca Martin and Larry Grenadier – a power couple in the jazz world, offering an intimate folk-infused jazz set.
Bill McHenry – the adventurous US saxophonist and composer who leads the Bill McHenry quartet and has released over a dozen albums under his own name.
Johnathan Blake – hailed as one of the most versatile drummers in modern jazz, with a deep groove and undeniable charisma.
Paul Giordimaina Sfera – representing Malta with a rich, melodic sound and a homegrown passion for jazz.
Glen Montanaro Trio – bringing traditional jazz with a modern flair, this Maltese trio is not to be missed.
Lukmil Perez Quartet – Cuban-born and rhythm-driven, bringing infectious Latin jazz to the Mediterranean stage.
Franck Amsallem Trio – a master of mood and harmony, Amsallem delivers elegant jazz steeped in European and American traditions, representing Franck Amsallem’s own mixed roots.
With such a rich and diverse line-up, the Malta Jazz Festival 2025 promises a soulful week of world-class performances in the heart of summer.
