The camera is rolling, and this time, it's pointed straight at Gozo! The popular Austrian TV cooking show ‘Silvia kocht’ has returned to the Maltese Islands for a second round of filming, this time diving deep into the heart of Gozo’s culinary culture, dreamy scenery, and warm hospitality.
Between the 22nd and 25th March, host Silvia Schneider and her film crew explored the island’s undeniable charm, setting the scene with wide shots of sunlit sea and distant cliffs.

Filming took viewers through the Villa Rundle gardens, the winding streets of Victoria, and the majestic Citadel. But of course, no ‘Silvia kocht’ episode would be complete without mouth-watering food – and Gozo didn’t hold back!
One standout scene saw a picnic overlooking Fungus Rock in Dwejra, prepared by the team at Gozo Picnic, bursting with fresh local produce. Over at Country Terrace, Executive Chef Havi made everyone on set drool with traditional recipes like fish soup and stuffed artichokes with octopus, all served with a side of stunning views over Mġarr Harbour.
In a fun twist, Silvia herself traded apron for harness as she joined Gozo Adventures for a climbing session, showing off the island’s outdoor appeal – and a way to burn some calories too!
With its fifth season underway, ‘Silvia kocht’ remains one of Austria’s most-watched daytime shows, airing on national broadcaster ORF2. The Maltese Islands’ feature will hit Austrian TV screens from 6 to 10 October 2025, with Gozo’s moment of fame airing on 10 October.
