Take note! Sliema ferry to and from Valletta temporarily suspended due to harbour swell
It's getting choppy out there!

Francesca Vella

As the easterly winds pick up in today's bad weather, causing some rough seas, the ferry service between Sliema and Valletta has been temporarily suspended due to rough sea conditions caused by harbour swell, with the last ferry departing from Valletta at midday.

The winds are forecast to pick up over the rest of today and tomorrow, meaning that this service and other ferry services that operate from Valletta (servicing the Three Cities Mgarr Harbour in Gozo) might also be impacted till late Friday or early Saturday.

Passengers are encouraged to stay updated through the Valletta Ferry Services Facebook page for the latest information on when services will resume. In the meantime, travellers between Valletta and Sliema will have to use the road options till the service recommences.

Stay safe, and check for updates before heading out!
