VOLPINI 2, a luxurious superyacht owned by Australian billionaire Lindsay Fox, has been spotted anchored off the Mellieħa coast.

Built by renowned Dutch shipyard Amels and delivered in 2018, the almost 190-foot yacht was designed by celebrated British yacht designer Tim Heywood, with interiors by Reymond Langton Design.

The vessel accommodates up to 12 guests and has a range of around 4,500 nautical miles.

VOLPINI 2 is particularly notable for its technological credentials. At the time of delivery, it became the world’s first new-build superyacht compliant with IMO Tier III emissions regulations, as well as the first yacht delivered with Amels’ hybrid power technology.

Industry estimates have placed the yacht’s value at around €60 million to €70 million, although no official valuation has been disclosed.

Now 89, Lindsey Fox is one of Australia’s best-known self-made billionaires, having left school at 16 and bought his first truck at 19 before building Linfox into an Asia-Pacific logistics giant employing more than 24,000 people.

His boat’s appearance off Mellieħa adds another notable name to the impressive collection of superyachts visiting Maltese waters during the summer season. These include Regina d’Italia, a 65-metre superyacht owned by Dolce & Gabbana Co-Founder Stefano Gabbana.
