This upcoming weekend Malta is going to be hit with a thundery storm that is predicted to be larger than usual.

“A storm is set to be formed from early Saturday morning which can possibly create a stronger than usual storm in the Mediterranean”, the ‘Aggornament ta’ temp’ Facebook page reported.

A very similar report was published by another weather Facebook page, ‘it-Temp Madwarna’.

They warned that flooding in low zones is almost certain as the storm “is likely to move slowly and this will probably cause a lot of rain over a long period of time”.

The meteorological office at the Malta International Airport has additionally reported that Force Five to Six winds are expected to hit the islands on Saturday.  These strong winds are expected to reach an impressive Force Seven to Eight high.
