Step back in time this weekend! The Mdina Medieval Festival returns on Saturday 3rd May
Get ready to step straight into a time machine, because Mdina is going full medieval once again this weekend, and this year’s edition promises more drama, spectacle, and history-fuelled fun than ever before!
Taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May, the 13th edition of the Mdina Medieval Festival will transform Malta’s Silent City into a living, breathing medieval village. Expect the unexpected as the ancient streets come alive with knights, nobles, jesters, musicians, market vendors, and more.
This edition brings with it live medieval re-enactments that'll make you feel like you're on the set of a historical epic and authentic period music that echoes through Mdina’s cobbled alleys.
There will also be a bustling medieval marketplace where you can browse traditional crafts and food, along with family-friendly games, performers & activities throughout the day.
To top it all off – to make it an entirely local celebration – a spectacular fireworks display will end the nights.
A special addition to this year’s edition will be a torchlit walk held on Saturday evening, where the Silent City will glow under flickering flames as visitors are led through Mdina’s mysterious alleys after dark. It’s a rare chance to experience Mdina in a completely new light – pure magic.
Worried about parking? A Park & Ride service will be operating from Triq l-Infetti, so getting to Mdina and back is stress-free.
Whether you're a hardcore history buff, a family in search of a unique weekend out, or just someone looking for an excuse to wander through one of Malta’s most beautiful cities in a new way – you won’t want to miss the Mdina Medieval Festival.
