Soon-to-be retiree? Malta named one of the most affordable countries for retirement

The UK based agency, Life Insurance Brokers Reassured’ has revealed that Malta came third in their list detailing the most affordable countries for retirement.

They based their report on the cost of  living, property prices, life expectancy, population levels, annual sunshine and transport costs.

Malta was revealed as one of the top countries for retiring due to its many hours of sunshine, the life expectancy of 81 years and affordable public transport tickets.

Greece took the top spot as the best country to retire in while Portugal took second place. Italy and Spain fell behind Malta as they took the fourth and fifth place respectively.

The UK fell short of the mark, ranking in 85th place for most affordable countries for retirement.
