‘Sometimes words fail us’ – RMJ Horse Rescue after finding horse in an ‘utter state of neglect’
“We love all animals but honestly just wish someone would acknowledge more the situation with horses and not just cats and dogs for a change.”

RMJ Horse Rescue are shedding light on yet another poor soul that has been subjected to maltreatment and left to suffer. The rescuers shared a heartbreaking video on social media showing the horse and its skeleton-like features that truly breaks anyone's heart.

“Sometimes words fail us. The latest broken soul found in an utter state of neglect. Yesterday evening we were contacted by Animal Welfare about a case they were called to. This is what they found: a poor little baby girl being kept in these horrible conditions and skin and bone.” So much so, that the horse's spine and pelvic bones are visible at points.

“We usually stay positive and try and always keep pushing forwards no matter what gets thrown at us but now this is getting to the point where even us with all our amazing team are really beyond breaking point,” RMJ continue. “We have thousands of bills to pay and every time we think we are getting somewhere we get asked to take in another urgent case. And honestly how on earth are we meant to say no? How could we leave a baby like this one here?”

“So we say yes. And late on a Wednesday evening, we pick her up. Then we wake up the next morning with one more horse needing lots of veterinary care and attention. It keeps getting worse and worse. We love all animals but honestly just wish someone would acknowledge more the situation with horses and not just cats and dogs for a change. We are the only horse rescue in Malta and sometimes the pressure is unbearable.”

RMJ needs your help to continue caring for these horses

“We really need you all to dig deep and donate even a tiny amount because at this rate we cannot go on much longer and the minute we close our doors babies like this one will have nowhere to turn to.”
