The Ħamrun Local Council has announced that the beloved Ħamrun Chocolate Festival will return on Saturday 18th October 2025, and chocolate lovers across the island already have their calendars marked.
Although it's still five months away, the hype is very real, and for good reason! This annual event is more than just a treat for the taste buds – it’s an artistic, cultural, and sensory celebration of all things chocolate.
One of the most anticipated elements of the Ħamrun Chocolate Festival is undoubtedly the life-sized chocolate sculptures of famous figures. Past editions have featured hyper-realistic creations that left visitors in awe, and fans are already speculating who this year’s edible celebrity might be!
The festival is proudly held in Ħamrun each year, and there’s a charming historical reason behind it. According to local legend, during the time of Grand Master Perellos, cocoa beans were stored in Ħamrun, linking the town to Malta’s chocolate heritage.
Over the years, the festival has grown into one of the most anticipated community events on the island, drawing crowds from across Malta (and beyond) to its buzzing streets for a night of fun, music, and decadent delights.
So if you’ve got a passion for chocolate, creativity, or just love a good festa, make sure you’re in Ħamrun on the 18th of October – you won’t want to miss it!
