This morning, Santa Venera Minority Leader Darrne Carabott shared that he put forward a proposal to name the new street in Santa Venera after the late Miriam Pace who was tragically killed almost a year ago when her house collapsed into the nearby construction site.

“This road that was opened a few months ago is found about 200m away from where the tragedy occurred that shocked the nation a year ago,” he shares on social media. “Since this street still has no name, I have spoken to and asked the Pace family for permission to put forward this proposal.”

“Justice will never be done for what the Pace family lost and that is why I feel that we need to keep Miriam’s memory alive,” he says, reminding locals to call for change so that “everyone can feel comfortable and secure in their own home.”

Carabott noted that this is still in the proposal phase and it is up to the Santa Venera Local Council to recommend it to the board that names local streets.
