Rain, rain, go away! Malta’s first post-summer rainfall is closer than you think
Is this good news?

We’re currently in mid-August, which only means one thing: rain will soon be coming our way! With the feast of Santa Marija over, locals can now brace themselves for some freak summer rainfall, but when is it actually going to happen?

According to latest models, “the first rain may drench the Maltese islands some time in the last week of August or the first week of September,” said local weather site Maltese Islands Weather.

It-Temp Madwarna also reported that a summer anticyclone that has been around all of August will continue to settle over the Med, but will calm down towards the end of the week.

But there's good news too! The Maltese Islands are still set to enjoy a few more weeks of sunshine and fab weather, with little to no wind forecast this week, and highest temps reaching between 30°C and 32°C and lows of 22°C-24°C. Rainfall however, is expected possibly anytime between next week and the week after, as we welcome a hopefully cooler September. #fingerscrossed

Are you looking forward to some rainfall?

19th August 2019
