President George Vella has today spoken out in favour of continuing online education in post-COVID-19 Malta.

Addressing the situation in a Facebook post earlier this morning, the President wrote: "Following media reports, I support Mr Zammit Lupi appeal for online schooling to continue post COVID, following negotiations with Education authorities & teachers themselves. Sick children can thus continue with their studies from home or hospital, even if abroad for longer treatment."

This comes after the benefits of online learning were outlined by Darrin Zammit Lupi and 14-year-old Rebecca, a teenage cancer patient who was able to continue her education from hospital.
