Platt fil-Pjazza! Celebrate traditional Maltese food and sustainability in Paola this September
Craving some local nibbles?

Looking for an opportunity to taste some local food? Platt fil-Pjazza – Paola (literally translating to ‘a plate in the village square’) presents a celebration of traditional Maltese cuisine sourced from local farmers and producers.

Make your way to Pjazza Antoine De Paul – the main square in Paola (also known as Raħal Ġdid), on Friday 19th September from 7:30PM onwards, for an evening of food, drinks, and family-friendly entertainment, while celebrating the heritage and sustainability of Malta’s culinary traditions.

Visitors can explore a wide variety of stalls featuring fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables, as well as products from local cooperatives and organisations such as Ix-Xirka Produtturi Nagħaġ u Mogħoż and the Koperattiva Ta’ Min Irabbi l-Majjal – KIM.

During the event, the Basilica of Raħal Ġdid will also be open to the public. Visitors can view the ongoing renovation of the portico and enjoy a unique perspective of the piazza and festival activities from above.

The initiative is linked with Malta’s 2025 Sustainable Development Action Days, themed ‘Your Actions, Our Future’, promoting efficient use of resources, circular practices in food processing, and reducing waste and emissions – all contributing to positive climate action.

Will you be there?
