Plan your holiday crossings! Gozo Channel Ferry services pause for Christmas and New Year’s Day lunchtimes
Services will be suspended between midday and 3pm on Christmas & New Year's Day.
If you’re planning a ferry crossing this holiday season, take note! Gozo Channel has announced that ferry services between Mġarr and Ċirkewwa will be temporarily suspended on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day between noon and 3pm, giving staff the chance to enjoy a festive lunch with their families.
During this three-hour pause, several scheduled sailings will not operate:
From Mġarr to Ċirkewwa: 12:00pm, 12:30pm, 12:45pm, 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm, 2:15pm, 2:30pm
From Ċirkewwa to Mġarr: 12:15pm, 12:45pm, 1:15pm, 1:30pm, 1:45pm, 2:15pm, 2:45pm, 3:00pm
The last ferry before the pause will depart Mġarr at 11:30am and Ċirkewwa at noon. Services will resume with a 3:00pm sailing from Mġarr and a 3:15pm crossing from Ċirkewwa.
Gozo Channel advises passengers to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid disappointment. The company said the break is a small gesture of appreciation for its employees, who work long shifts, often in challenging weather, ensuring a reliable service all year round.
