Music lovers rejoice! In honour of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini’s death, the Classique Foundation has announced that they will be presenting the Puccini 100 – Anniversary Concert on Saturday, 16th November, at 7.30pm.
The event will take place at Teatru Astra in Victoria, Gozo, promising an unforgettable evening of operatic excellence. The concert will feature a stellar lineup of internationally renowned performers.

Leading the ensemble will be American tenor Gregory Kunde, celebrated for his powerful presence on the global opera stage, alongside soprano Erika Grimaldi, one of Europe’s most in-demand lyric sopranos.
They will be accompanied by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Joseph Debrincat, a distinguished figure in both the local cultural scene and in Puccinian studies. Debrincat’s expertise, particularly his detailed work on Puccini and his final masterpiece, ‘Turandot’, will add depth to the performance.

The program will include some of Puccini’s most iconic arias, duets, and orchestral pieces from beloved operas such as ‘Manon Lescaut’, ‘Tosca’, ‘Madama Butterfly’, ‘La Fanciulla del West’, ‘Suor Angelica’, and ‘Turandot’. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to hear a lesser-known instrumental work making its Maltese debut.
Tickets are now available for booking online. The concert is supported by the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, Visit Malta, Teatru Astra, NDSF, and the Social Causes Fund.

Get ready for an evening of sublime music and celebrate the enduring legacy of one of opera’s greatest composers.
