Open day! Discover Malta’s prehistoric past during European Archaeology Days this Sunday
In celebration of European Archaeology Days 2025, Heritage Malta is offering a rare opportunity to explore two of the island’s most important prehistoric sites: Kordin III and the Tarxien Prehistoric Complex.
This special event invites the public to step back thousands of years and experience Malta’s rich archaeological heritage up close.
On this unique occasion, visitors can enjoy guided tours of the Kordin III site, one of the lesser known but significant prehistoric temples in Malta. Tours will be held in small groups of up to 25 participants to ensure a more personal and immersive experience. Scheduled at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, and 12:00 pm, these tours will highlight the site’s fascinating features, including its temple remains, architectural elements, and historical context.
As an added bonus, the tour fee for Kordin III also includes free same-day access to the nearby Tarxien Prehistoric Sites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its intricate stone carvings and complex temple structures.
Pre-booking is required for the Kordin III tours due to limited capacity, making early reservation highly recommended. Bookings can be made online or in person at any Heritage Malta museum or site.
Whether you're an archaeology enthusiast, a history lover, or simply curious about Malta's ancient roots, this event is a perfect way to celebrate European Archaeology Days.
Don’t miss the chance to connect with the island’s distant past and witness the marvels of one of the world’s oldest civilizations.
