On the move! 30 new buses added to Malta’s bus fleet
The number of passengers using public buses in Malta has increased significantly since last year.

A total of 30 new buses have just been added to Malta’s bus fleet by Malta Public Transport!

This was done in the hopes of accommodate more frequent routes due to he increasing number of passengers using Tallinja.

In fact there has been a 19% increase in passenger traffic during the first three months of 2024 when compared to the first three months of 2023. Between January and March of 2024, a total of 17.2% passengers made use of Malta’s public buses.

The number of people making used of a personalised Tallinja cards has also increased by 30%.

To continue improving their service, they also hope to introduce a total of 120 electrical buses by the end of 2025 as they replace older diesel operated buses. Such a project will help to continue decreasing carbon emissions.
