The reality TV show featuring hot young singles looking for a love connection in Majorca has taken the UK by storm, and this year, it’s gained a loyal following in Malta too. The contestants are always a good-looking bunch, but as the show continues into its final weeks, I couldn’t help but notice a few similarities between the Love Island lot and some of Malta’s beloved personalities… and I’m not the only one!

The Girls 

Molly Mae is… Sarah Zerafa

Do you remember when Sarah Zerafa wore ice blonde hair extensions to Malta Fashion Week? We couldn’t help seeing a striking resemblance to Love Island’s Molly Mae, who’s a social media influencer and model, just like Sarah! Coincidence much?

Amber is… Hannah Nwoko

We are seeing some major similarities between everyone’s Love Island favourite Amber and local dancer Hannah Nwoko! Apart from the obvious physical similarities, they’re both absolute boss bitches who aren’t afraid to speak their mind.

Anna is… Denise Dalton

Ok now these could seriously be twins. The straight-talking Anna reminds us so much of local bad girl Denise Dalton that we can’t even handle it. They both have curves for days, and even pose the same!

Maura is… Gaia Cauchi 

With her dark hair and makeup on point, there’s something about saucy Irish beauty Maura that reminds us of (a very grown up) Gaia Cauchi!

Amy is… Jacqui Losco

Gone but never forgotten! Former beauty queen and Miss United Kingdom Amy has got a lot in common with local model Jacqui Losco. They both know how to rock a catwalk and are high-flying air hostesses too, and that’s not to mention the major Khaleesi vibes!

Curtis is… Raphael Pace

Professional ballroom dancer Curtis shares a love of the stage with Maltese actor Raphael Pace, who’s currently killing it in London’s West End. They have the same classic good looks and dazzling smile, too!

Tommy is… Leslie Spiteri

One’s a boxer, one’s a personal trainer. Both huge, both super cute. Ok, I’m done.

Michael is… Sean Gravina

Michael is everyone’s favourite Love Island band boy, and Sean is Malta’s badass celebrity chef. Both exude laidback cool, and the tatts and piercings don’t hurt!

Chris is… Muxu

He’s a newcomer that has stolen our hearts thanks to his awesome personality and witty quips, and there’s just something about him that reminds us of Maltese singer and songwriter Muxu!

Anton is… Carlo Gerada  

OK, so these guys may not look *exactly* alike, but they definitely have the same style going on, and they’re super nice guys to boot!
