OMG! Shakes n Bakes collaborates with Sphinx to bring us Pastizzi tal-Figolla
It’s like a figolla and a pastizz made a baby.

Sarah Micallef

They’re two of Malta’s most beloved (and naughty) foodie exports, but we’d have never thought to combine flaky favourite snack pastizzi with Easter treat figolla before!

That’s where San Gwann takeaway Shakes n Bakes comes in, forever bringing us crazy food combos we’d never have dared try on our own. And their latest offering is really something: Malta, meet the Pastizzi tal-Figolla.

Collaborating with local pastizzi giant Sphinx, they’ve combined two of our favourite Maltese treats… but do the two really go together?

How do these work? Are there pieces of figolla baked into the crumbly pastizzi? Or has the flaky pastry simply replaced the lemony figolla pastry, with a tasty almond filling within? So many questions… and so many cravings.

Will you give the Pastizzi tal-Figolla a try?
