There are plenty of parties and events to choose from this New Year's Eve, but for those of us who'd like to forgo the dance floor this year, it doesn't mean we can't celebrate in style. Fancy some delicious food within a stunning ambience, accompanied by a glass (or three) of bubbly? Well, who wouldn't? Take a look at these five creative dinner menus that will have you ringing in 2019 in the best possible way!

1. Hammett’s Maċina Restaurant

Head over to Hammett’s Maċina Restaurant for a classy celebration in a historic venue. You’re sure to have a superb evening, with live music, delectable drinks and delicious food. Apart from a special NYE menu, Hammett’s are giving the choices of an open bar and canapé menu as well as a tasting menu, with the full package priced at €100 per person, the open bar and canapé package at €60 per person, and the tasting menu at €70 per person. Tickle your taste buds with an array of dishes including an amuse bouche of compressed cucumber and salmon roe, divine stracciatella di bufala, confit fillet of cod, saffron risotto, juicy duck breast, and top off the meal with a delectable clementine curd. 

2. Salini Resort

Did someone say seaside views and a gala dinner? Yes, please! The Salini Resort’s NYE menu is the stuff of sophisticated dreams. Devour the local cauliflower and honey velouté and the creamed risotto flavoured with fior di latte. The main course has a meat lover’s choice of rock salt and thyme infused tenderloin of beef, or a fish dish of oven-roasted wild seabass in a zesty herb liquor. The evening will be topped off with a choice of a rich araguani chocolate mousse or lemon delight on citrus cake, and finally coffee and petit fours - heaven!

3. Villa Corinthia

Villa Corinthia at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa is offering a magnificent gala dinner menu that you can't miss out on this New Year's Eve! With entertainment by Mae and DJ Tony Tony, you’re in for a fantastic night to see in the new year! Consisting of an array of absolutely delicious dishes, Villa Corinthia won’t disappoint! Start off the night with a taster of tapioca, scallop, yuzu pearl Marigold and gold leaf, followed by tasty golden beets, white port, pickled baby beets, and horseradish sorbet. Your taste buds will be tantalised when they taste the Iranian saffron risotto, followed by butter poached veal tenderloin. And after dinner, you can dance the night away at the after-party celebrations!

4. Paradise Bay Resort

Take a seat and enjoy your New Year’s Eve buffet dinner at Paradise Bay Resort’s Il-Merill Restaurant. Start off the night with deliciously cured and marinated European cold cuts, meat and fish terrines, including a selection of salads, sauces and dressings, as well as European cheeses, dry fruits and nuts. Take your pick between the carrot and sweet potato soup or the butternut squash and parsnip velouté (or try both!). Watch your pasta dish come to life at the live past station, and then head over to the carvery station for some juicy slices of roast... or, how about the tasty fillets of salmon or stone bass if you're a fish lover? The buffet will also offer a kid’s corner. Top off the night with a selection of seasonal desserts including traditional English Christmas pudding, Italian panettone, pandoro, nougat, German marzipan stollens, and so much more!

5. Il Teatro Trattoria & Pizzeria

Head to Malta’s capital city for New Year’s Eve and treat your taste buds courtesy Il Teatro Trattoria & Pizzeria within the stunning De Vilhena Boutique Hotel. During the festive season, they will be serving a specially created al á carte menu with seasonal specials. A sneak peek of what to expect includes a creamy butter marrow soup served with cruncy croutons and a splash of spicy oil, followed by a ‘teatro trio dip’, which includes basil and artichoke, tuna aioli and olive tapenade served with freshly baked focaccia. First courses include cavatelli pasta with fresh mussles, beans, spicy pepperoncino and rosemary, and pasta al salsiccia (with sausage), or devour a meat platter for two consisting of juicy ribeye, tagliata, sausages, veal saltimbocca and delicious sides. Finally, topping off the night is a choice between homemade tiramisu and limoncello cheesecake - sounds divine!
