New national record! Malta’s largest handcrafted puppet wows crowds at Gozo’s International Puppet Festival
In its second edition, Għarb’s festival left everyone in awe.
Yesterday evening, The Malta Records team was present at Għarb’s main square in Gozo, where a brand-new national record was officially presented – the largest handcrafted puppet ever created in the Maltese Islands, standing tall at an impressive 22 feet high.
The record-breaking creation was shown to the world during the Gozo International Puppet Festival, now in its second edition. A video shared by Michelle Bonello captured the towering puppet in motion, leaving the crowd in awe of both its size and the spectacle it brought to life.
The evening was one to remember, as those in attendance were not only impressed by the grandeur of the puppets but also by the festival’s lively performances, such as the masked cyclist weaving in and out of the crowds. A special hats off to One Aim Carnival Company and Jean Paul Mifsud, whose creativity and dedication were the driving force behind this artistic achievement.
With such unique artistry on display, although still in its second year, the Gozo International Puppet Festival is proving itself to be an unmissable event.
