Will your favourite be among the performers?

Just three weeks into the judges’ auditions, X Factor Malta have announced the live show dates. X Factor Malta will only have four live shows including the grand final, and the judges will be The Riffs frontman Ray Mercieca, Maltese singer and songwriter Alexandra Alden, renowned singer Ira Losco, and music producer Howard Keith Debono. The grand final has been locked in for the 26th January 2019, with the three live shows to be held in the preceding weeks (6th, 13th, and 20th January).

The live shows will be held at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC), the same location where the Six Chair Challenge was filmed earlier this month. The format of the shows and the number of acts to be eliminated each week have yet to be announced.

In traditional X Factor style, one contestant is eliminated each week over a total of 10 live shows, but in recent years, certain productions such as X Factor Australia opted for five live shows, with four acts eliminated in the first week. It is possible that X Factor Malta will use a similar format, but only time will tell!

And if you'd like to be among the audience watching the shows live at the MFCC, tickets for the first three live shows are currently on sale at €20 each, or as a package for all three shows at €50.

It was announced earlier this year that the winner of X Factor Malta would go on to represent Malta at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Israel, as well as securing a record deal with Sony Music Italy, so they've got everything to play for!
