Monday 17th August: Malta records 69 new cases of COVID-19

In this morning's press conference, the Superintendent of Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci announced that Malta has detected another 69 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours after 2,269 swabs were carried out. She also noted that 10 cases have also recovered.

These numbers bring Malta's total of active cases to 607 and its recovery tally to 759. Since the outbreak, the Maltese Islands recorded 1,375 cases and has performed 158,933 swabs so far.
