Mark your calendars! Agape Festival returns to celebrate Rabat’s cultural and spiritual heritage
It’s all happening between 23rd January to the 21st February!

The Agape Festival will once again return this year with the aim of celebrating and promoting the rich artistic, historical and spiritual heritage of Rabat. Organised by the Paulus Foundation under the patronage of the Ministry for Inclusion and Volunteering, the festival continues to establish itself as a key cultural event rooted in community engagement and inclusivity.

Taking place between 23rd January and 21st February, the Agape Festival highlights how volunteering can play a vital role in building more inclusive communities. A large number of volunteers contribute their time and dedication to ensure that Rabat’s musical and historical heritage is accessible not only to the general public, but also to persons with disabilities.

Initiatives such as the Agape Festival reflect the Government’s vision of placing inclusion and volunteering at the heart of cultural and social policy. When culture becomes a tool for active participation, particularly for vulnerable groups, it helps encourage a fairer, stronger and more united society.

The festival programme includes talks, artistic activities and guided tours of historical sites in Rabat, all designed to encourage participation while strengthening social responsibility and solidarity within the community. Volunteering, through this initiative, acts as a bridge between culture and inclusion, offering opportunities for learning, participation and personal growth.

A highlight of this year’s festival will be a concert by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra at the Basilica of St Paul on 6th February. Other key events include a lecture by Manos Vougioukas, Secretary General of the European Cultural Tourism Network, and the presentation of a new book on Pauline theology, followed by organ music on the Basilica’s Mascioni organ.

Through its diverse programme, the Agape Festival continues to celebrate heritage while bringing people together through culture, faith and volunteering.
