Marching into spring! Join Heritage Malta’s 10km youth hike from Dingli to Ħaġar Qim
Heritage Malta is inviting young adults to start the season on the right foot with an energising coastal adventure designed to celebrate the arrival of spring.
On Saturday 21st March, participants aged between 18 and 25 are encouraged to lace up their walking shoes and take part in a scenic 10km hike from Dingli Radar to Ħaġar Qim.
Organised in collaboration with Pass Pass, a newly formed youth hiking club founded by Ella Manduca, the event aims to bring young people together through shared outdoor experiences. Blending nature, fitness and heritage, the hike promises not only breathtaking views but also a sense of community and achievement.
The journey begins at 11:00am, with participants meeting in front of the Dingli Radar. From there, hikers will make their way across the dramatic Dingli Cliffs, following the rugged coastline towards Għar Lapsi. The route then challenges participants with a steep ascent leading up to Ħaġar Qim, one of Malta’s most iconic prehistoric temples and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Along the way, hikers will pass through some of the island’s most spectacular and unspoilt seaside landscapes, enjoying sweeping sea views, fresh coastal air and the invigorating challenge of a long-distance trek. The experience concludes at Ħaġar Qim, where participants will be treated to refreshments. A shuttle service will also be provided to transport everyone back to the starting point at Dingli.
Participants are encouraged to bring water and snacks to stay energised. Tickets are available online or from any Heritage Malta museum or site.
