Another year, another Mdina Grand Prix: this year, make sure to keep 12th to 14th October free! Kicking off the event with the Mdina Concours D’Elegance - a display of wonderfully restored and maintained cars such as the James Dean 356 Pré-A Speedster 1500 Super, 1954. Be sure to head to the old capital, just by Mdina Glass, to celebrate the aesthetic spectacle to consume the Silent City.
Once the cars are drooled over, the grand event will take place on the 13th and 14th October. The Mdina Grand Prix has been known to entice not only avid car collectors and lovers but also to mesmerise attendees who are new to the scene!
This year, among the top cars competing during this event are;
French driven:
Realm Jaguar Xk Ss Replica
Porsche 356 Speedster (1954)
Chevron B 16 (1970)
Alfa Roméo 8c Touring 10602 (1932)
Bugatti Brescia (1922)
Porsche 356 C / 1600 Sc (1964)
Locally manoeuvred:
Riley 12/4 Special (1936)
Swiss operated
Delahaye 135 Cs (1936)
The entire Mdina Grand Prix shabang is organised by Malta Classic, an organisation founded by classic car collector Thierry Giovannoni, a French entrepreneur who launched Malta’s Classic Car Grand Prix in 2007. This nostalgic event gives Malta a platform to exhibit the people’s love for cars (and their need for speed!)
Will you be visiting the (not so) Silent City this weekend for a piece of the action?
