Lighting up the sky at midnight: New Year’s Eve on the promenade of Valletta Waterfront
Look up and celebrate with family and friends, as pyrotechnics dance above.

New Year’s Eve always comes too soon. It feels like it was just a couple of months ago when you popped open that bottle of fizz and hoped for a calmer 12 months, promising (at the same time) not to drink so much, go to the gym and be nicer to everyone around you. But yes, it's soon time to dust off your heels once again and line-up your nearest and dearest to see 2019 in with some verve - and if fireworks and live bands are what you're after, the Valletta Waterfront is bound to hit the spot!

This year, the promenade is hosting a spread of entertainment for young and old alike on 31st December, including live performances by Talitha and Kersten Graham, and roaming free children's animation, bound to keep your little ones going until 2018 is well and truly over, giving you the opportunity to celebrate the New Year as a family

The long line of restaurants which frame the Valletta Waterfront – from casual diners and Mediterranean eateries to vibrant outlets offering speciality cuisines – will have their doors thrown open for the occasion, chefs at the ready to rustle up some family favourites. Bars will also be on hand to offer a glass (or two) of spirited tipples, whatever your drink-du-jour. And, once the clock strikes midnight and you’ve had your fill, a fireworks display will illuminate the sky while confetti rain on the promenade, overlooking the historic Grand Harbour.

The party promises to go on for quite a bit longer after midnight too, with a DJ set lined-up for those night-owls who just can't get enough of a great time!
