So what’s in store?

Excited to know more? Here's what this year's Malta Jazz Festival will be showcasing.

Notes from the Harbour

Curated by Joe Smith, Notes from the Harbour will be exhibiting works by five photographers and two artists, together with memorabilia and footage from the festival’s past performances. Essentially, it is a nod to the festival’s 30th birthday and a depiction of how it evolved through the years. The exhibition will be on display until end August.

Masterclasses

The annual Masterclasses are back and are a perfect opportunity to get first-hand experience from experts in the field. Different Masterclasses are available both online and in person. You can register here. Spaces seem to be limited, so get applying!

MJF Channel

The MJF Channel will be dedicated to showing rare archived footage from past editions of the Malta Jazz Festival, some even dating back to the early ‘90s.

City Jazz Series

This is a series of midday and evening concerts happening at Valletta’s Freedom Square that will surely liven up your visit to the capital. It features the likes of various local musicians ready to jazz it up.  Since travel bans have been lifted, The City Jazz Series will also be welcoming international talent for the event.

Charles ‘City’ Gatt

This year, the festival will be paying homage to its very first artistic director, Charles ‘City’ Gatt by showing three videos that shed light on his career and his contribution to the Malta Jazz Festival that he held so dear to his heart.  The videos will be available to watch on the Malta Jazz Festival’s Facebook page and on their website between 13th and 18th July.
