It’s official! This is Malta’s leading hotel in 2019
Corinthia Palace won the top accolade at an international competition, and these are five reasons why.

Jo Caruana

The Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa in Attard isn’t just one of the most celebrated five-star hotels on the island, it’s also one of the most legendary. From welcoming members of the Royal Family for dinner, to winning the Global Travel Awards’ ‘Leading Hotel’ title (for the 11th time!), this is one seriously super place to stay. These are just five of the reasons why.

1. The style

Corinthia Palace has always been known for its style – from the elegance of the Villa Corinthia, to the lush landscaped gardens. However, a recent renovation process has raised the bar even higher – with the chic new lobby, sophisticated Executive Lounge, smart Mdina Room, and a transformation of the rooms and suites. We absolutely love this new look!

2. The service

For decades, Corinthia Palace has been celebrated for its people – and that still rings true today. In fact, some of the staff members have spent their entire careers at the hotel, and they can remember when it opened in the 1960s, and some of the amazing events that have taken place since (Her Majesty The Queen’s dinner in 2015 was one such highlight). We think that this celebration of longevity and respect for tradition certainly underpins what makes the service so special today.

3. The location

The team at Corinthia Palace like to celebrate the ‘best of Malta’ – and the hotel’s location certainly helps them to do exactly that. Situated just across from the President’s home San Anton Palace and the adjacent gardens (which are open to the public), the hotel is also equidistant from Valletta and Mdina, which are two of the island’s most popular destinations. Basing yourself here – in the heart of the island – means you’ll be best placed to explore the tourist hotspots, as well as the places slightly more off the beaten path. Oh, and the Corinthia Palace’s own beautiful gardens deserve exploring too!

4. The Summer Kitchen

When The Summer Kitchen opens its doors, locals know the season has really gotten started. As the hotel’s summer eatery, this restaurant celebrates everything we love about great Mediterranean living – lunch al fresco, dinner under the stars, fresh local ingredients, great cocktails, a wonderful wine list, and tables right at the poolside. Plus, it’s famous for its excellent selection of veggie, vegan and gluten free dishes (as well as everything else!) so everyone is covered.

5. The Villa Corinthia

With wedding season upon us, it would be amiss to mention everything we love about the Corinthia Palace without mentioning Villa Corinthia – one of the most iconic wedding venues (and restaurants) anywhere on the island. Trust us: this space is full-on glamour – from the sophisticated décor to the fabulous high ceiling. It definitely sums up everything that makes this place so legendary!
