Indulge your sweet senses! This year’s Hamrun Chocolate festival is back and bigger than ever
This year marks the 13th edition of the Hamrun Chocolate Festival, one of the top events happening in Malta which is also well-known internationally.

For this edition they have prepared various ‘new’ items/creations for all attendees to enjoy.
With a turn-out of more than twenty-five thousand people attending in 2022, this Chocolate Festival is a unique event which gives visitors a special opportunity to enjoy a wide range of chocolate related products.
Based on the past editions’ success, the organisers moved a step forward to give a more welcoming atmosphere and innovative ideas with unique attractions, especially for this 13th edition.
The Hamrun Chocolate Festival will take place on Saturday evening on the 21st October 2023, in St. Joseph High Street (Strada Rjali), in the ‘old’ city centre of Hamrun (near the train station – now the Hamrun scouts quarters) and in the adjacent roads. These areas will be the beating heart of the festival where visitors will undergo the ultimate chocolate experience. Chocolate lovers will find a treasure trove of information, but above all will be pampered and surprised. Themes range from fun and creativity to passion and gourmet tasting, health and wellness.
The Hamrun Chocolate Festival will be the festival of sweet sins…
It will see chocolate makers coming from not just Malta, but even from Italy, Germany, Belgium, America, Brazil, UK, Morocco, just to mention a few. They will surely submerge the public in an atmosphere of indulgence and pure enjoyment!
During live demonstrations from top chefs, bakers and chocolate makers, visitors can discover chocolate creations and recipes that they can even try out themselves.

Attention will be paid to the wide variety of ‘creative applications’ with chocolate, mainly:
- Chocolate painting on canvas
- Chocolate Sculptures
- Chocolate Centre Pieces
- Live demonstrations using various Chocolate recipes
In the meantime, children can indulge in creative chocolate fun thanks to a special children’s corner.

Both Hamrun and Modica are famous for their unique chocolate festivals and so for this year’s edition we will have chocolatiers and other participants from the ChocoModica Festival.
This event is being organised by the Hamrun Local Council in collaboration with the Malta Diary Products, the Hamrun Business Community and various local organisations under the artistic direction of Mr. Mario Camilleri, MA.
